BEDROOM CARPET BLOG

THESE FEET WERE MADE FOR WALKING…CARPET OR HARD FLOORING IN THE BEDROOM?

We have so many floor options to choose from! This makes it super fun and daunting when determining what to install where.  One easy decision may be picking carpet for the bedroom. Read on and see if this soft floor covering makes sense in your private oasis…or someone else’s cozy sanctuary.

For many people quiet is key when trying to sleep. Hardwood floors tend to creak where carpet is quieter to walk on and helps to mask the sound of others walking around the room. This can be especially helpful if you and your partner’s schedules don’t coincide. Carpet absorbs sound (hard flooring reflects it) reducing noise.

Leaving the warmth and comfort of bed when the alarm sounds is one thing, stepping onto a cold floor is another. Carpet can provide for a nice comfy transition as our feet hit the floor.

Carpet can be the safer choice especially if you get up half asleep during the night. Slipping on a hard floor is more likely and not something anyone wants to experience. On that same note, babies are more likely to benefit from the softness of carpet when learning to crawl and walk (kinder on those little knees) and young children if they roll out of bed at night. A picture containing floor, indoor, room, window

If you are a hard floor enthusiast through and through, consider an area rug that extends several feet around the bed, or smaller area rugs with non-slip pads to keep them in place on either side of the bed and in front of dressing areas.
